Packers-Only Mock Draft - Version II

Put up on our Front Page late this morning.

I gotta say I'm not thrilled. I really think Brace is overrated, and there are a lot of guys that I think will fit our needs and schemes better than Orakpo. I don't think this draft improves our defense as much as I would like.

Yes, I read it, but didn't care for it all that much. In particular:

A. Moore, a 289 pound OL. I believe the Packers are moving to bigger players. Unless they plan on shelving this guy for a year to bulk him up to about 310 or so, I don't see him as a possibility.

B. Moore, a 265 DL I thought the DE's in the 3-4 were supposed to be in the 290-300 range?

On the other hand, I like the idea of bringing in a bulldozer FB and a stud punter. Henderson is sorely missed, and its definitely time to settle the punting position, as the kicker was settled with the drafting of Crosby (hopefully).

Kinda like the beginning despite not being a big Orakpo fan. Meredith is a little small, but he'll be a back-up the first year and can take a year to add some weight and strength. He'd be OK down the road.

Really just don't like the middle. Don't like the smallish safety unless you're sure he's CB material. Same thing with the DE. Too small for a 3-4 DE, not enough of an athlete for OLB. If you want to add a S in those rounds and have them be better fits think Chip Vaughn, Mike Hamlin, Darcel McBath and David Bruton. For DE, maybe Fili Moala, Alex McGee, Mitch King, or Corey Irvin.

It goes on to finish strong. Like the 5-7th round picks a lot.

Echo the not a huge fan response. I'm hoping Orakpo is long gone before our pick. I saw a lot of UT games and he did not seem to earn his ranking. I don't think it improves our D much at all. Why is Merideth listed at 287. He weighed in twice in the past month at 309 and 307.
