I cant imagine that after all the bad press they have taken for years now that they would go after Vick. But its DET...anythings possible.

Well then Vick would fit right in.

I think it's gotta be Stafford for Detroit.

And IMO, it should be.

He's a franchise-type QB like Matt Ryan and if they do this off-season right, they could easily put 5-6 wins on the board next year. Their defense isn't THAT bad either.

And let's not forget that they've got both money to put into free agency, and a crapload of draft picks. If I was the GM for the Lions, I'd be pretty excited about building that team around guys like Ernie Simms and Calvin Johnson.

Vick has no fit in this league other then Atlanta. The guys on that roster would be the only ones to accept him back. I think the Lions, with the right off-season, can win 6-7 games.

Tampa Bay went 0-26 during their streak in '76-77. I'd take 27 to break the record, but 32 straight would be incredible.

Curious, Why do you think the players in the league won't accept him back? Not a challenge...just a question as to your opinion.

I personally think he had a lot of friends in the league and was very popular with players across the league prior to his arrest. Quite frankly, despite my utter distaste for him and what he did, I think if a completely confidential poll was conducted we'd find a surprising number of players in the league ... and a surprising number of people in the country...don't think he did anything wrong. After seeing the media's reaction to Clinton Portis's comments about Vick (immediately after his arrest) and his team/agent having him quickly backtrack and apologize, I just think a lot of people figured it was in their best interests to keep quiet about the subject or be PC. I'd like to be wrong and think everyone is outraged by his actions...I fear I am not.

I sure hope you are wrong.

I think you're spot on with your opinion of what others in the league think.

Now when it comes to Vick playing again, there are only a few options in the league for him. He made the cardinal sin of making a very powerful guy look like a complete jacka$$, and powerful guys do not like being made to look like fools. The only owners who would accept him at this point would be those who are made to look like fools on a year to year, and sometimes month to month, basis - Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder.

As for Daunte, hey, why not.

well there is a difference with a player's thoughts and a GM's thoughts on Vick. There are many reasons, his huge salary, the amount of time he missed in the leauge, and how fans would react to getting Vick. Plus there is no reason to say that Vick will be back anytime soon.

I actually think the Lions might rebound next season and string together some nice wins. They have a lot of good draft picks and Matt Milan is no longer in charge over there.

I think they get 5 wins easy, maybe even 8. They do not have that bad of a team and a few good draft picks and a free agent our two and they are right back in the thick of things.

Just like the Pack. It worked for Atlanta last year.
