This week Chris & Dave discuss another late game Packers collapse.

Great episode as usual. One thing I disagree with though is Chris' comment that the team last year wasn't as good as 13-3 and was more like a 9 win team. Yes, that team did win a lot of close games, but that is what good teams do. For example, the Steelers have won six games by 7 points or less this year. Would you say they are not as good as their record indicates? In the final three playoff games won by the New York Giants last season, none were won by more than 4 points. Good teams have to win the close games. Last year the team was good as evident by their record and how they did in the playoffs (even though the loss "hurt," the Packers did take the SB champs into overtime in a game the Pack didn't really deserve to win).

Chris is right.. two time outs cannot be called between plays. Joe Gibbs did it not knowing the rule and punished his team.

That's the incident I was thinking of. Thanks for chiming in with this confirmation.

A good argument and valid points. However, I am not convinced. And, no, I don't think PIT is as good as their record.

The way I see it, close games can go either way, particularly given the parity that exists in the NFL. If a team wins six games by less than four points, that leads me to think they are probably three games better in their record than they really are. Those things, in my experience, tend to even out over time, and I believe we are seeing that this year with the Packers.

So while last year's team was exceptionally lucky, the opposite is true for this year's team. I thought they were a .500 club at the beginning of the year, and if their luck had been about as one might expect, they would probably be right around that mark.

But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong...
