Win now? Or whenever it happens?
I believe that we are in a win whenever it happens mode. My points to this argument (because arguments are everywhere) is that while we have done very well with securing our playmakers, i.e. hawk Woodson, Grant, Rodgers, Harris, Barnett, etc….We essentially have strengthened the outer perimeter of this team. Our core is lacking, the core being our offensive and defensive lines. We continuously get blow by on our O-line, Grant can’t find a hole to save his life because the O-line does not provide the hole. We are mediocre in the areas in RED:
Packers Opponents
TOTAL FIRST DOWNS 100 113
FIRST DOWNS 33 - 62 - 5 52 - 47 - 14
THIRD DOWN CONVERSIONS 38/84 31/79
FOURTH DOWN CONVERSIONS 2/6 5/7

TOTAL OFFENSIVE YARDS 2000 1993
OFFENSE (Plays-Average Yards) 369 - 5.4 382 - 5.2
TOTAL RUSHING YARDS 591 920
RUSHING (Plays-Average Yards) 158 - 3.7 180 - 5.1
TOTAL PASSING YARDS 1409 1073
PASSING (Comp-Att-Int-Avg) 126 - 198 - 4 - 7.5 99 - 190 - 11 - 6.0
SACKS 12 13
FIELD GOALS 9/11 13/13
TOUCHDOWNS 19 15
(Rushing-Passing-Returns-Defensive) 4 - 11 - 1 - 3 5 - 9 - 0 - 1
TIME OF POSSESSION 30:31 29:28
TURNOVER RATIO +4

To me those stats especially the 3rd down and forth down ones start with the O-Line, as well as the rushing yards. We are getting blown out.
The D-line is dominated by Aaron Kampman, when we do get a sack, I have no reason to believe it was anybody else other than Kampman. So to Kampman, thank you for coming to play. He has 6 sacks. Jenkins (out) has 2.
I do not know if there is anyone out there that could’ve been traded for, or picked up for our O or D lines, but it would sure be nice to have Corey Williams still. Even though he does not have any sacks, he still is a force and was a force for us.
Charles Woodson is the other highlight reel here. 4 Interceptions with 2 run back for TD’s. NICE WORK!

Available Defensive players: ( not that they are problem fixers, but hey, at least bring them in for a workout….)

Defensive Tackle

Rod Coleman - The Atlanta Falcons decided to go with younger players in his place. He's had his injuries but Coleman should have one more productive year left in him.
Marcus Tubbs - The former first-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks needs to prove he's over his injury problems.
Anthony McFarland - He's coming back from patella tendon surgery but the feeling is he'll be able to contribute to a team in a reserve role this season.
Ed Johnson - The former starter for the Indianapolis Colts was released by the team recently due to an off the field issue.
Alvin McKinley
Tim Anderson
Michael Myers
Matthias Askew - A former fourth-round pick of the Bengals.
Ethan Kelley - Despite coming back from microfracture knee surgery, he's had at least three free agent visits so far this year.
Antonio Garay - He fits in as a fourth defensive tackle.
LaJuan Ramsey - He was released by the Indianapolis Colts this week
Ross Koloziej - He fits in as a fourth or fifth defensive tackle.
Russell Davis - He fits in as a fourth or fifth defensive tackle.

Defensive End

Rosevelt Colvin (OLB in 3-4) - You have to wonder how much he has left in the tank after a team that's hurting for sacks like the Houston Texans cut him. He did work out for the Cleveland Browns recently.
Bryce Fisher - At this point in his career, he fits in as a fourth end.
Darrion Scott - Legal issues could prevent him from finding a place to play this season since he's suspended for three games.
Rodney Bailey (DE in 3-4/DT in 4-3)
Melvin Oliver - He was recently released by the San Francisco 49ers but he's a decent fit for a team that uses a 3-4.

I don’t know, this is some fat to chew on, we need some depth. Who knows maybe there is a player out there that is willing to go that extra mile for the team, to secure a roster spot for next year. We need help…I believe we are a Win, whenever it happens team right now.

After reading that list of FA's, its no wonder TT doesn't sign many FA's.

No, not much of interest there. Right after the Super Bowl is the time to strike.

Exactly. Use the offseason wisely and injuries have less of an impact.

From the list though, as a matter of depth, I don't really see anyone that could even "hold the line" until some of our injured players come back.

If Harrell makes it back and can play, this will be a huge help.

I think we are a win whenever team as well, though it is interesting that if we had the defensive performance of last year, with holding teams to just over 18 points per game, we would be 5-1, not 3-3.

I think the pack management is willing to let the young line develop into better players and wait the couple of years for that to happen, rather than go for the attempt at the short term quick fix. I am in the minority that thinks Harrell will be productive if he gets healthy. I guess we will find out soon.

Injuries, especially on D, have really hurt this team so far. Let's see how things go with some of our ailing fellas back on the field.

Most of the guys on that list are players I've never heard of or have character issues. It will be interesting to see who will be available this spring and summer...
