Us poor Packer fans need a couch to lie down on....
It seems our lines are playing so poorly that there will be some very un-sexy picks in the 2009 draft. OT, DT. At the moment, Tauscher and Clifton look to have gotten old fast. It seems just yesterday they were both totally safe bets to neutralise absolutely anyone, on gameday.
There will be a lot of hope resting on the shoulders of Harrell, when he comes back, since at the moment we cannot stop anyones run game, when they go up the middle. Can it be they miss Corey Williams that much, or have Jolly, Pickett and Cole just begun to mail in their games. I could understand it if they wore down over the course of a game, but they cannot stop the run in the first half either. If I were MM, Jolly and Pickett would get a very large rocket up their ample backsides.
Rookies Brohm, Finley and Thompson have doen nothing, but I expected nothing this year. I'm ok with the idea that you can pick more potentially talented guys that are still on the board, because they are still unpolished. If they pan out in a year or two it's a good deal. I'll be much more demanding of them next year.
With Cullen Jenkins out Montgomery has just one chance to show he can be at least a high-quality backup. If he does nothing, he is gone by next years first regular season game. He was nicked up last year, but now it needs to be his time (if KGB starts there over several games, Monty has failed). Exactly the same applies to Jason Hunter too.
What has happened to Nick Barnett ? He is not the same guy he was last year. Judging by how he is doing (purely this year), If he isn't careful, Bishop will supplant him.
Rodgers, Crosby, Collins, Tramon Williams and Jordy Nelson all seem like brighter spots on the team, and I think Chillar may have upped his game too. Jennings is a monster at WR.
Ok, that's enough rant, just make sure that there is some Cappuchino to hand, and that your couch is comfy (and that there are some spare cartridges to go hunting black birds).
