Full Version: First post at the top of EVERY page?

I noticed that a while back, you changed the format back to where the first post of a thread is at the top of every page of the thread...

Does it really need to be that way? I have wasted precious minutes of my life scrolling past what I have read 20 times already... wink.gif

Would you consider removing that 'feature'?

Thanks.

Never was that way.

When you look at the list of threads in a Forum there will be an icon 'lit up' denoting a new post in the threads. Click on that icon and it will take you to the last un-read posts in that thread.

Hope that helps.

True - but if more than 1 page has gone by since I last read the thread - at the top of every page is the first post - again.

Look at one of the 20+ page threads about Favre returning for example. At the top of page 1 - the first post is there (of course). It is also on the top of page 2, page 3, page 4....., page 25...

Sorry I am not seeing the repeat of the original post on preceding pages.

Maybe someone else can chime in.

He means how the original post of each thread on this forum has the first post stuck at the top of the page. It's normal on the first page, but when you go to page 2 and on the very first post of that thread stays at the top of each page, followed by a space for the advertisements, followed by the posts that are actually on the second page of that thread.

Yes - what he said... smile.gif

So what do you see on this page?

Annoying post #1 at the top of the page - should be just on Page 1 - followed by advertisements and then posts #41-45.

Ah yes....you are using I.E. (Internet Explorer) for your browser. The pages are setup that way (for I.E.)

Since I use FireFox I don't see that.

Solution would be to try FireFox....we like it.

I am using Firefox and I still see that first post on every page. And I also find it annoying.

Well then I don't know what to tell you.

I see it in I.E. but not Firefox.

Sorry.

Ok - but obviously I'm not the only one...

By the way - I see it in Firefox on both Mac and PC machines.

It is all in how your options are set at the site. After you are logged in, click on the options button in the upper right hand corner of the first post. Under Display Modes, click on Standard instead of Linear+. That should fix the issue for you. It will no longer have the 1st post separated at the top of each page.
LMG
Forgot about that....thanks.

There are a few things that one can do in My Controls also.

That did it! Thanks!
