Hey guys, I'm a new listener to the podcast and a comment one of you made (whichever one isn't sold on Thompson yet) struck me as kind of funny and I hoped you can expound on it.
You mentioned that the easy part was done, and now the hard part is left. You even re-iterated that going 13-3 was the easy part. I'm not sure how that is easy. That is very difficult. 378 teams have played a season since 1997, and only 29 of them have gone 13-3 or better. That's 7.6 %. IMO, that would be considered elite, not easy.
If you take out this past year, the Patriots and Colts combined have only done it 3 times in the last 9 years (Or 5 times in the last 10 years if you count 07). If teams that have been as good as they have for the last 10 years (2 of the best offenses in NFL history) struggle to get to that record, what would make it seem easy?
I think GB going 13-3 last year has been highly under-rated and Thompson, McCarthy, and the entire team should be given a lot of credit for it.
