I'm a 31 year old man, but when it comes to Brett Favre, I'll always feel like a 10 year old kid. Watching Brett was like watching a comic book superhero come to life. Football is America's greatest sport. The Packers are America's greatest team. And there will never be another Brett Favre.

It would be impossible for us fans to return all the joy you gave us. But I hope you read some of what the fans will be writing in the days ahead. And I hope it helps you to realize all the incredible joy you brought to so many of us. Go hunting, ride your tractor, play with your kids, and enjoy everything that life gives you.

Thanks for the memories.

#4...the greatest of all-time.

I really don' t think TT wanted him back. Reports say Moss would've came even for 1 year to play with Favre. It's not like we could not have done this. I don't really know if it would have worked out though. He would have had a lot more picks IMO.

Aaron Rodgers... Your Turn!

1) As has been stated here by a couple people, I'll believe this when I read it on Packers.com. Not when I read a pickup from a rumor spread by a Biloxi reporter who heard it from Favre's brother. Favre is not like this: if he had something to say, he'd get up in front of the media and say it.

2) I'm certain that when Brett makes a decision to retire, it will be about his desire to do the required work, not about Randy bleeping Moss.

I agree with 66_Ray. Can't we just be thankful for all the seasons that Brett gave us? After spending some time remembering the good things he brought to the Packers, we can move on with the Rodgers' era. Listening to 107.5 all they are talking about are conspiratorial things about why Brett retired.

they also said he was willing to commit to more than one year if they would have gotten Randy Moss.
IF that the case I think TT dropped the ball.
maybe he didn't .....i don't know.
seems petty to retire cause you don't get randy moss

god i am going to miss him

I read the other day that Moss would have signed with the packers but Brett wouldn't commit to more than one year. can't remember what site though. we may find out eventually.

I can only remember 2 starting qbs for the pack Majik and Favre. sad day

as most of you know, i was hoping he would retire. There is no gaurentee that the pack will be as good or even in the playoffs next year with or without brett, and at 38, had one of his best years and led the youngest team in the league to the NFC Championship... sounds good to me...

Wow. Wow wow wow wow.

I can't believe it.

For years we've known it was possible. But in none of these winters did I ever actually believe he was going to quit. Much less so this time.

Unbelievable.

OK, Ted, time to spend some time pursuing backup QB's.

There are some that think that it is the end...

There are some like me that believed that it was time for him to retire. Nagging injuries and a long cold season; Green Bay is No Country for Old Men.

1 - Favre called Mortenson and told him he was done. Al Jones is the reporter closest to the Favre family. My guess is Favre has retired. Of course, I will not be surprised if he changes his mind in a couple of months...
2 - Agreed, his decision has absolutely nothing to do with Moss (or any other FA's they didn't acquire).
