I dug this up. If it is accurate, look for the draft to supply the players TT wants.

HA HA the skins are 20 million over the cap. Looks like the Pack will have to look wisely with there cash near the bottom in cap space. The Titans look to be the big spenders.

The Pack also has a lot of its team locked up, some of the other teams may not. So, this could be misleading. Not to mention some cap maybe regained by getting rid some players... Say Bubba... KGB will probably be asked to restructure.

I was reading on another forum that said King's cap numbers are usually way wrong, and that his estimates are way too low.

Besides Franks....Thompson also did a couple deals this year that will add to our cap space next year. So we really add about $7 - $8 million. Plus we have very in the way of wasted bonus money on cut players that needs to be figured in. Some teams have more of that type of wasted space.

why would we ask KGB to re-structure? The guy has been amazingly productive. We couldnt get that production out of a cheaper guy, we dont need the cap room, just reward him. I saw a ton of this sentiment over the past two seasons and disagreed then as I still do. He is an important part of our defense and he is being paid what he should be getting paid.

yeah we have alot of cap space, and only one player of signifance yet unsigned. And that player is Corey Williams DT. Luckily for us we have a bunch of DTs, so even if we lose him it's not a big deal. Maybe then Harrell will play, haha

There's the elephant in the room (Favre) -- if he retires we gain a bunch.

TT also has some tricks up his sleeve. the TE Krause I think has a 4mil bonus in his contract after this year if he has like 8 punt returns for TD's or something along the line of that. He doesn't even play on punt coverage, but since it's in his contract, the packers can take that money from this years cap, and push it foward to " cover" the incentive, if he does actually get it. I know there are a couple of loopholes in the salary cap area, but I think any leftover mopney from this year will be smuggled into next year. FIRE TT !!! - just kidding.

Another thing while my brain is working, IMO as long as we have enought cap room to re-sign / restructure any players that earn a payday next year, who really cares what our cap number is? As long as we have the money to cover the rookie class, and maybe extend a few contracts for players that show their worth, ( nick Barnett / Cullen Jenkins, etc.) Think about this, 5 months ago, everyone wanted Adalius Thomas / Larry Johnson ( IR) and whoever else. We didn't get any of them, and we're 11-2. Whatever TT and Co. has going on with the cap for next year, I will have to agree with everything they do because they have built a legit contender, with cap relief for the future.
