I know that the Patriots haven't been playing as well as they did earlier in the season, but it certainly seems to me that the Steelers are setting themselves up to be blownout by the Patriots.

Bulletin Board material: Steelers' Smith guarantees win against Patriots

While, I hope this is proves to be correct, I just have this feeling that the Patriots are going to look to show those last two games were a fluke and will try and run up the score on the Steelers.

Isnt that great, a guy who's team lost to the AZ, Den, and the Jets all the while BARELY beating the Dolphins is talking smack.

If you haven't noticed... the Steelers have been without a starting wide out and their defensive ace Polumoulo (or however it's spelled)
The game against the dolphins, for the millionth time, you could've put Tom Brady and the Pats out there and they wouldn't have gotten a single touchdown, just horrible field conditions.

Eagles, Ravens, Steelers ahve what in common? Extreme blitz packages. Steelers toppled the Pats 21 game winning streak in previous years, halted the Pats road to the Super Bowl. This isn't a team that's worried about facing the Pats.

Steelers win this...

I felt like the dude jinxed em by making that guarantee. Everyone knows that if you aren't Jimmy Johnson, you don't guarantee anything in this league. The 40whiners fans will understand this... biggrin.gif

Steelers should be able to come in and win, depending on what Steelers team shows up. Good Pitt or Bad Pitt.

The Steelers can certainly beat the Pats based on the way NE played against the Ravens and the Eagles -- IMO they might have peaked too early.

I have an unreasonable level of dislike for the Pats now, though -- I want to see them taken apart so badly that the NFL folds the franchise out of disgust.

where the PAts got exposed the last week was BALT ability to run the ball up the gut. If Parker has a good game and the Stillers can control the clock they win

Absolutely correct. No one has touched on the terrible conditions the team has played under the last two games. That Monday night game was a fiasco. Last Sunday was better, but still, they need a real field to play on- not a muddy "mosh pit".
By the way, if you think the Patriots should be punished for their excellence and dominance- this has happened before, with the Packers of the '60's, the Steelers of the '70's, and, now, the Patriots of the 00's (does that "00's" make sense?) Later, we'll look back nostalgically at this time, just as in basketball we used to expect the Celtics and UCLA to win again, not to mention the Yankees.
If it was the Packers in the drivers seat (or should I say when), I can guarantee this would not (will not) be a problem. cool.gif

The Steelers problem, as it has been all season, is their offensive playcalling.

An outside run -- by a WR -- on 4th and 1?

I just had that gut feeling about the game. I really wanted the Steelers to play better, but the Patriots had something to prove today. A perfect season seems almost inevitable.
