Ok so i was doing my usual research to see what the scouts and analysts think of the pack.
http://insider.espn....6lid%3dtab4pos1
Sorry for this link, im having problems getting it to work, but anyways.
I came across this link that talked about the most overrated and underrated WR's in the nfl. Now i have to say for the record that i have never bashed these reports, but this is just pure nuts. Saying that both Driver and Jennings are overrated as WRS is the stupidest freaking thing i have ever heard. No wonder why I have never heard of Joyner before, he is absolutely horrible.
No matter what he says Driver is one of the best out there, And Jennings being from my school TH Western Michigan Broncos is one of the better younger WR's out there. No if he can give me more to back up what he says then stats called success percentages then he might have at least a hint of an arguement. But since he doesnt even have some good proof to back it up, hes just another bum on the street to me. (I just want to say sorry if any bums are taking offense to me lumping Joyner with them)
Other then this all i have to say is go pack and let the media write you off. Youll have your time to shine and show them what you can do.

I heard Driver had more YAC than ANY wide receiever in the NFL last year... it's true.. he was 5th in the entire NFL... Look at the recievers he's beating... and the running backs... the players he's in company of ... I want to see someone twist this into something negative... then tell me he's overrated? Tell me he's getting old... pfff... Having to constantly battle stupidity is getting old... Tell me Bryant Westbrook is more of a reciever and I'll reach through the monitor and smack your dog... This is about the player... not the team and how it reflects our deficiencies as an offense... that's the easy thing to do... twist and shout, hell no, this is about a player that should get some respect... OK, a slightly different opinion. I still remember when Sterling Sharpe received over 100 balls in a year. At tht time, and still, I thought he shouldn't have been a WR but a TE. Why? Because he generally caught a 2-4 yard pass, and then tried to make something out of it. Maybe RB's do this on a regular basis, but WR's? It reminds me of the time when the Packers had John Brockington- quite seriously, it seemed like the Packers were more interested in getting Brockington 1,000 yards than winning games.
Is Driver a very good receiver- or the best option Favre has in a depleted WR pool? Who else is there to throw to?
Any criticism of Jennings is too early. Unless his injury bug proves to be an annual problem (like Ferguson).

Interesting that DD was #1 in WR's with YAC.
You expect RB's to have good YAC stats. A lot of their passes are safety valve / in the flat type receptions and they have room to run after they make the catch (plus being a RB doesn't hurt their ability to get YAC either.........you could rephrase that into Yards After Contact
Joyner's a joke.

Good point/question Ricky, but you still have to look at DD and ask............
1.) If he's the best receiving option on the team, he must be pretty good to still get open because he's being double/triple teamed all the time by DB's.
2.) With all those DB's around him, he still makes the catch and then adds significant YAC.
I believe DD is better than advertised and if anything is underrated.
Certainly not overrated.

...maybe he titled his Column incorrectly... because it still says overrated wr's but goes on to tout the sheer production of Driver by also stating facts he was 5th in receptions and 5th in total yards...???

greystroke, I agree, to a degree. But remember, this is a WR that has Brett Favre throwing to him on a regular basis. This is not Rex Grossman or Daunte Culpepper. My (revised) question stands: is Driver that good, or is Favre that good? And exactly when was it that Favre had more legitimate options than Driver? Franks at TE for two or three years in the red zone. Other than that- Schroeder? I am willing to be corrected, as always. But come up with a serious during the past few years, other than Driver.

If you haven't noticed, there's been a bit of cooling of the Favre Fervor amongst the national media lately: kind of a "we're not as nerdy as John Madden" statement among King, Prisco, etc.
It wouldn't surprise me if Driver and Jennings are getting a little backlash from that Favre hate.

Oh yeah, just today... Ron Jaworski called Brett Favre the most overrated QB in the NFL. Still bitter about his starting streak, I guess...
