I just have to ask this question.

Is there still anyone in Packerland who wants to believe that Donald Driver is not an NFL caliber #1 receiver??

My evidence to suggest otherwise:
1.) He's been the only real receiving threat of the Packers WR's. So he draws fairly consistent double coverage.
2.) The Packer running game has been aniemic all season, so opposing defenses can focus their efforts of shutting down Driver and the Packer passing game, and in spite of that..............................
3.) Driver is tied for 10th in the NFL for receptions.
4.) Driver is #14 in the NFL in total receiving yards.

If you didn't believe before...................you have to believe now! wink.gif

What if things go so bad that he ends up as our only receiversad.gif That would make him the most important #1 wide receiver in the league(In my opinion that position is currently being filled by Steve Smith)

What the heck else is this guy supposed to do to prove himself? He does everything thats asked of him and more -even when everyone else around him goes down.

He's a legit #1. Anyone who says he isnt doesn't know football.

that Td catch was a catch a #1 makes. Could Jennings have made the catch? Debateable imo

Driver is a Pro Bowl player. No doubt. If the Packers released him EVERY team would be after him. Great work ethic, plays every game hard and is tough as nails! He is a #1 receiver.

I think there’s more than enough evidence to support that Donald is a bona-fide #1 wide receiver in the NFL, than there is any to suggest that he is not. Those who repeatedly claim he isn’t really don’t have any data or factual evidence to point to as to why he isn’t. All they do is make very subjective, baseless claims – such as “teams don’t double-team him” (which nearly all last season, and this past Sunday, shows to be absolutely untrue), “teams don’t gameplan for him” (another absurdity – after all, as I’ve asked numerous times before – and it *still* goes unanswered: if teams aren’t game-planning for Donald Driver on our offense, then who *are* they game-planning for?), or, “he wouldn’t be a #1 wideout on any other NFL team”. That last one is patently false – unless of course the posters who’ve made that statement can tell me why teams like NE, KC, MIN, CLE, JAX, TB, ATL and BUF (is Lee Evans superior to Driver??), and BAL just to name a few off the top of my head, would not have him as their #1..??

He’s a playmaker, and he’s a #1. I think it's sad - and nonsensical - that posters like yourself greystroke, and I and others here in these forums, have to continuously defend him from the bashers and critics.

p.s. - Btw, Donald is also the #9 receiver in the NFC. smile.gif

Look dude, You can call Driver a #1 if you want, you can call Ferguson a #1 if you want, You can call any WR on the Packers a #1 if you want.

Bottom line: You wont win consistantly with Donald Driver as your #1. Since Walker went down last year this teams offense has sputtered at best, Not Drivers fault, but it changes the way defenses have to play. You think these DB's come here scared of Donald Driver? You put a big time WR across from Driver and we are in business (No folks, Jennings isnt big time yet). The whole complexion of this team changed when Walker went down, and IMO trading him was easily the stupidest move the Packers have made in 10 years.

You can say Donald Driver is a #1 if you want, nobody can stop you, but I'd be looking to find somebody better on the other side if you want to win. On paper he might be your #1, on the field, but you better keep looking for a legit #1 if you want to win. Walkers injury proved that.

I'd probably agree here.

I love DD as much as the next packer fan, and I think he is a number 1 for this team, but if we want to go deep in the playoffs, I think we need someone to compliment him.
