Did anyone else notice Flynn looked a lot like Aaron yesterday. Nice zip in the ball. Guess that is why they felt confident enough to let Brohm go. Good awareness in the pocket. We'll see more of him next week but looks to me like we may have a pretty decent #2. Not Aaron by any stretch but still think he can function in the offense effectively if called upon. Down the road could be trade bait and net us a nice high draft pick.

Yeah, he looked solid out there. I liked his mobility.

They really didn't run anything too fancy. But he took care of the ball and led the team to a couple of scores so what's not to like about that?

What I liked about him coming out of college was that he seemed like that guy that just got the job done. Big stage in the National Champ game and I remember saying that LSU couldn't win that game because of Flynn's inexperience. He was solid if not spectacular in that game. A Player!

What I like about him now is he seems to have a natural feel in the pocket. He moves around with ease and avoids the rush while still looking downfield. That is huge at this level. Could be what seperated him from Brohm.

I feel much better about Flynn being the back-up QB. Yea, he missed a couple of throws that could have been made, but that's to be expected for a QB that hasn't had any live action since pre-season. The one play that impressed me was when he rolled out and then fired a strike to Nelson. The Flynn we've seen in the past would have tucked the ball and tried to run for the 1st down. Nice to see him move with his eyes downfield.

I haven't seen enough of Flynn to form an opinion one way or the other. I go more on what the coaches and players are saying since they see him in practice every day. What I read last week in the Press-Gazette sounds very promising!

"And while it’s too soon to say Flynn is destined for the same path, there is mounting optimism not only about Flynn’s readiness as Rodgers’ backup, but of Flynn’s chances for success if he goes the way of Hasselbeck, Mark Brunell and Aaron Brooks, netting something in a trade along the way.

'I don’t even know if that’s Matt Flynn from Year 1 to Year 2, to be honest with you,' receiver James Jones said. 'He’s gotten tremendously better. If he would get an opportunity, whether it’s here or somewhere else — man, he’s going to be a good player.'"

He just wins at every level. He is the polar opposite of Jay Cutler who has never won at any level. Not saying Flynn is better than Cutler but intangibles of what it takes to win IMO out weigh the all american talent.

Well, in that guy's defense the Jets can make most QBs look bad.

Not sure how good Flynn will be, but he looked fine to me (for a sub) yesterday, and I'm glad to read stuff from players or team people that he's improved. I thought I recall reading earlier (Bedard or somebody?) that his throwing has improved and that he seems to be stronger and more accurate than was the case coming out.

However good he is or will become, I think it's safe to say that the Packers are now comfortable with him, and entering next season that they won't be looking to replace him as #2 guy. Both this year and last I felt like we were really gambling on backup QB, but we've gotten away with it and I'm guessing now that Flynn will no longer be viewed as a bad risk sub.

If anything, with Brohm now gone, they are probably in position where they could now use a mid-late pick on another QB to get put into the #3QB/practice squad multi-year development pipeline.

That seems the ideal, have a #2 that you're comfortable with, and have a developmental #3 talent on the rise. If the #3 doesn't develop, try another the next year. And if the 3 and/or 2 develop well enough, you've got some trade flexibility.
