100% speculation.

With Zorn in trouble in Washington I wonder why the Redskins would go after Sherm Lewis of all people to call plays? The guy has been out of football for 5 years.

My theory is he was hired as part of a recruitment of Mike Holmgren who doesnt want any part of this years disaster. Lewis comes in to finish the year, get the team familiar with terms and calls of the system. Holmgren walks in next year, some parts already in place, ready to take over.

Holmgren is going to want power, is Dan Snider ready to hand it over????

Holmgren recently tore into the Redskins organization for treating Jim Zorn unfairly.

Highly doubt he'd put himself in a position where he would share ANY power, especially with Dan Snyder, the man who apparently honed his personnel skills on Madden video games.
