3rd and shorts?
Nope and instead of sitting here and waiting Ill let the cat out of the bag.
In 11 games Ryan Grant has 8 receptions for 37 yards and that bothers me for a RB.
I know others might think thats meaningless but we need to get him out of the backfield more and get him some catches out in space. Let him do some damage out there.

That is more game planning and coaching IMO. Grant can catch the ball just fine out of the backfield but we never call his number. It is always the patent "3rd and Long? Dump it off too Jackson!"

Further to this comment, the lack of giving Grant the ball in space is a bit odd, considering the play that got him noticed by players and staff alike was a swing pass against the Giants in week 2 last year that he took for 21 yards.
He can do it just fine.

plus we have brandon jackson as a 3rd down back, he does all the back field stuff.
27 catches for 172 are jacksons numbers, 4th on the team in receptions and 5th in yards.

I wonder how many of those are on 3rd down?
I remember back in the mid to late 90s Levens was getting the ball a ton. He was averaging 46 catches a year. Throwing the ball to a RB was a staple in that offense and I thought it worked pretty damn good.

What damage will he do outside? Did you notice how many times in the last few weeks he's run out of bounds? Instead of planting his outside foot, cutting back inside, and lowering the boom on some DB he's run out of bounds. THAT is what's bothering me about Grant, we've got plenty of receivers... we need a hammer to run the ball.
