His "sources with knowledge of the Packers thinking" claims that they wouldn't have draft Brian Brohm and goes on to suggest which direction they may have gone in.

TT taking Rodgers in the first place turns out was not a very good decision. We wasted a 1st round draft pick to sit o the bench behind the most durable QB to ever play the game.
Imagine if we took Luis castillo (DT) instead. We would have had a starter who would have made an immediate impact for our team. Keep Jenkins on the inside, pick up a DE and we could have had the best line in football. Too bad we let a monster like Jared Allen slip to the Vikings. Imagine how great he would look in Green and Gold.
Instead, we got a 4 year bench warmer and a 1st rounder DT (Harrel) who cn't stay healthy, even before the season starts, much less make it to camp. Then we trade away our franchise DT who would spend time on the field and bolster our line for another bench warmer QB that we wouldn't need, especially since Brett wants to come back and play again.
Good thing we grabbed another WR in the 2nd round instead of taking a position of need, or trading up to get a player who could really help us this year.
Was TT even awake during the free agency signings? We didn't do anything to put ourslves in position to make a solid run at the SB this year.

IMO it is when we picked the two QB's during the draft and in particular Brohm, that finally woke Brett up to the realization that the Pack was moving on and that he had made a terrible miscalculation. I believe that this was the catalyst for the circus we are now witnessing.

Ok, we're going to bash on tt some more. You forgot the one about how his job is now secure so he is feeding his ego, etc. That's fine. Ask yourself this, though- Let's assume that you are right and (apparently) tt deserves to be fired. Is there a market for his services in the NFL? Maybe teams would prefer someone like, oh, I don't know, Bill Parcells? IMHO we are lucky to have him and I suspect he has no fear with respect to job security, and never did... the alternative being the ego thing? not seeing it still.

Like who? Who would you have picked up from this year's miserable free agent class that would have been a sure-fire upgrade over our current situation? Other than Chillar, I mean.
Or is this just more routine TT bashing?

which is just further proof that ted thompson does not draft for need, he drafts his perception of the best available player at the time of the pick, regardless of need. and this begates the entire premise of the article, that somehow brett's retirement altered the course of the packers draft. nonsense.

Of course, you forgot to include the fact that Favre was hinting at retirement then. It had nothing to do with durabilty.
It was a completely sensible pick at the time.

I imagine plenty of things. It appears your imagination is obssessed with making TT look like your a better GM.
The article is stating that BF decision influenced their decision making during the draft. And your argument to second guess TT past drafts and free agency to counter what the article is saying is weak.
