I often pondered this question lately with the whole Favre fiasco coming close to a halt. This beef with Favre added even more speculation to my question, because many of us have taken sides in the matter. Now, it's pretty much set in stone that Rodgers will jog out of tunnel on MNF as the starter, Sept 8th, whether you like or not. I get the sense the majority around here is, Favre gives this team the best chance to win and Aaron hasn't proven anything yet. And while I understand your argument, it's no longer debatable.

This is Aaron Rodgers team. It's his turn to try bring the Lombardi Trophy home to Green Bay.

But, unfortunately, throughout numerous posts on here I get the rationale that some of your minds are already made. You deem him as incapable of leading this team in the postseason and beyond. Unable to even come close to putting up "Favre-like" numbers. Lastly, the most important one, he won't even last maybe 6 games into the year, laying waste to the season.

But if we don't give the guy a chance, he's already screwed. That first INT he throws, he'll probably feel like the fans are ready to burn him in effigy. Boo-birds will be loud, real loud, most likely from the stinging affects of the Brett Favre saga. That's just not right, IMO.

I believe in Aaron and his capabilities just from what I hear and what I have seen. MM and TT get to see him everyday apparently they think so too. The have gone "All-In" on a guy that could risk them their jobs someday. This is a big gamble for sure and everyone who is anyone knows it.

Regardless if you like what's going on or not, it doesn't mean we can't support the cause. Win or lose with him at QB.

So really, are we all going to get on the Aaron Rodgers bandwagon or not? Or are you just never going to get on at all?

Aaron Rogers told me to shut my mouth, so that's what I'm going to do. But in all seriousness, I'm willing to give him this season as an adjustment period.

I have thought all along, that Aaron is in the worst possible position. My guess is that he is regretting the day the Packers drafted him...just because of having to follow in Brett's footsteps.

I agree with you, Big Dave. Aaron is our QB and I am hoping and keeping my fingers crossed that the fans will get behind him.

Nothing ticks me off more than to hear any fans at any sporting events booing a player or players. There has been very little if any of that from the Packers fans that I can tell.

If they start booing Aaron for what ever mistakes he's bound to make, then that's just sad.

The Packer fans have long been noticed as some of the classier fans around the league. I sure hope that continues and they back the entire team.

If he struggles, Ill be more upset with Packers management for making the wrong decision this season.

Exactly.

I'll cheer him just like I cheered Brett... But if he ends up being a bust it's just going to make me think that TT didn't have a clue.

a Big Dave ...Dead on...

I agree and will be Rooting for Aaron , I liked what I saw in Dallas and hope to see more of that .

Right now my Trust is in McCarthy, I believe he knows the goods when he sees it and feels good about the QB, I would like to have a better backup with more EXP..But we dont live in a perfect world..( And that is only for injuries - not to pull the kid when has an off day)

It Reminds me of some videos I have seen on NFL network when Holmgren was coach and tells either Reid or Marriuci to Pull Favre after a mistake... then says no..."I HAVE TO SHOW HIM I HAVE CONFIDENCE IN HIM"

I believe that is what MM is doing for AR..." I HAVE MY CONFIDENCE IN YOU" Now DO It...

so if MM can do it so can I .... Go Pack Go

No worries, Aaron will be just fine, he's a winner and will welcome this challenge.
Im just a little bummed he rode the bench for 3 years, make it a bit more difficult breaking all of Favres records....smile.gif ...see how optimistic I am .. Think Bretts records are Mannings for the taking , not Rodgers, but Aaron will be a great QB.

Great post Big Dave!! I have been wondering the same thing. I really don't consider him to be a rookie first year qb that they are just throwing into the fire (if that makes sense), but there will be some growing pains and people need to understand that. I am excited to to finally see what Aaron can do on the field.

This is what I don't get. So after one season of struggles he should be declared a bust?

He is going to make mistakes this year, so automatically it was the wrong decision? We will never know if Favre was better or not, so that point is far from valid. Quit using it. Sure, previous track record indicates Favre probably would be, but what if this is the year the wheels come flying off with Favre. You just can't argue intangibles.

But lemme get this straight, though. Say Aaron struggles this year, the Pack go 6-10, miss the playoffs. It's managements fault?

+1. my thoughts exactly, Rodgers is the man now and I'll back him 100%. Anyone who doesn't is rooting against the Packers.
